Demand Side Energy Toolkit
Australia’s energy system is undergoing rapid transformation. Businesses are facing rising costs, supply volatility and increasing regulatory and investor expectations. Managing energy security, cost and carbon is now central to long-term competitiveness.
The Climate Leaders Coalition’s Demand-Side Energy Toolkit offers business leaders practical guidance on how to turn these challenges into opportunities. Developed by CLC members from various industries, the Toolkit explains what demand-side energy (DSE) is, why it matters, and how to take action. It offers real-world use cases and a structured approach to help organisations cut costs, strengthen resilience and reduce emissions — all while preparing for a net-zero economy.
The Toolkit helps companies:
- Understand demand-side energy and where it applies across their operations.
- Identify energy-system risks and opportunities.
- Select proven interventions — from efficiency and storage to electrification and virtual-power-plant participation.
- Build a credible business case linking DSE to value, resilience and competitiveness.
We thank EnergyAustralia (DSE company lead), PwC (project support partner), and other participating CLC member organisations for their collaboration in developing this practical guide to a business-ready energy transition.
